Raheem Sterling
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Raheem Sterling made a substitute appearance for Liverpool’s first team at the age of only 15 in a 2011 pre-season defeat at Borussia Moenchengladbach, thus enhancing his reputation as one of the brightest starlets in the club’s renowned Academy. The talented winger joined from Queen’s Park Rangers in February 2010 with a reputation for pace and flair and made an immediate impact when he scored on his U18s debut in a mini-derby triumph against Everton, since when he has continued to make great strides. One of the highlights of his fledgling career came during a 9-0 FA Youth Cup thrashing of Southend in early 2010, when he scored five of the goals. He has also represented England at youth level and helped his country reach the U17 World Cup quarter-finals in the summer of 2011.
