Glen Johnson

Born in Greenwich, Liverpool and England defender Glen Johnson wears the number 2 shirt and weighs in at around 70kg. Born on the 23rd of August 1984, he has a string of international appearances under his belt and has turned out for the reds 74 times, scoring five goals. He began his career under Harry Redknapp at West Ham, making fifteen appearances as well as embarking on a loan spell at Millwall. He then became the first signing of Chelsea supremo Roman Abramovich in which he helped the London team win the Premier League and the League Cup – he was eventually loaned to Portsmouth. After becoming one of the most popular players at Fratton Park, and helping them to win the FA Cup in 2008, Johnson won numerous accolades in recognition of what he had achieved. A summer move to Merseyside then followed, with a debut coming at White Hart Lane on August 16, 2009. Three days later, Johnson scored his first goal for the club, an acrobatic volley against Hull on November 22. Despite doing so well however, injuries have somewhat hampered his progress during the 2010-11 season, however, since the arrival of Kenny Dalglish, he is now looking to get back to winning ways with the club and build on his reputation as a top class defender.
