LFC Trophies
Liverpool FC and records go hand in hand, with the club being one of the most successful football teams both here and abroad. Winning honours both domestically and in European competitions, the club really has been a force to be reckoned with for many generations. For instance, as well as many other honours, the club has won a staggering eighteen top-flight titles, and also holds the record for the most European Cup victories by an English team (they have won the competition five times).
Liverpool Football Club have also won the League Cup seven times and collected their seventh FA Cup in 2006. Other FA Cup wins came in 1965, 1974, 1986, 1989, 1992, 2001 and 2006. Despite all the titles won however, it isn’t just the club’s success that has to be celebrated -the players that Liverpool have had on their books throughout the years have also helped play a pivotal role in the success of the club. Ian Rush, for example, is the club’s record goalscorer with 346 goals during his Liverpool career, whilst current player and Captain Steven Gerrard, is also a Liverpool icon and is currently the club’s record goalscorer in Europe.
As far as titles go however, Liverpool FC really is the best football clubs that England has ever produced. Not only has the club won the domestic league title eighteen times throughout its history, it has also been runner up twelve times, meaning that even when the club missed out on the championship crown, it was never far away. The club has also enjoyed great international success and won the European Cup competition in 1977, 1978, 1981, 1984 and 2005. The club was also a runner up in the same competition in 1985 and 2007. To add to the long list of honours, Liverpool has also scooped the UEFA Cup three times and the UEFA Super Cup three times too.
